Tendenci® CMS Platform Powers Website for Montessori School of Downtown

Each campus uses easily updated calendars, school lunch menus and photo galleries to reflect their unique personality

Tendenci Powers Education WebsiteHOUSTON, August 14, 2013 – Montessori School of Downtown, the fastest growing school program in Texas, is preparing for the new school year with a vibrant new website, https://www.montessoridowntown.com, which is powered by Tendenci (www.tendenci.com), the open source Content Management System (CMS) for nonprofit organizations (NPOs). The new website is helping the campuses of Montessori School Downtown to strengthen bonds with the families of their existing students and to provide all the information necessary to help other families decide if Montessori School of Downtown is right for them.

The upgraded website for Montessori School of Downtown, which has campuses in downtown Houston, Medical Center, Clear Lake, Pearland and Silverlake, was designed by Schipul - The Web Marketing Company (www.schipul.com), a leading Web marketing and software development company based in Houston.

"With Tendenci, our new website is more user friendly and, because it is easy to update and add new content regularly, our parent community is encouraged to visit regularly to stay informed, which is good for everyone involved," said Barbara Bergeron, Director with Montessori School Downtown. "Each of the campuses has a unique personality, so it is very powerful for staff at each campus to be able to keep their online calendars, newsletters and lunch menus updated and to post photos of events themselves without having to go through a webmaster."

Despite having a great deal of information available for parents and families considering sending their children to Montessori School of Downtown, the simple design of the website features big, bright photos of children and makes it easy to navigate to find upcoming events, news and announcements, downloadable enrollment and medical forms, and testimonials from parents.

Montessori School of Downtown, which has a child-centered philosophy that emphasizes individualized learning, is the latest education-related organization to select Tendenci CMS. Others include Beaumont Independent School District, Castle Hills First Baptist School, Children's Assessment Center, Houston Public Library Foundation, Inclusive Schools Network and World Class Learning Academy.

Last year, Tendenci was released as an open source CMS to give NPOs greater freedom and control over their online presence. Tendenci has more than 1 million users and currently powers hundreds of websites for nonprofit organizations and associations around the world, including Metropolitan New York Library Council (www.metro.org), Houston Technology Center (www.houstontech.org) and Komen Houston (www.komen-houston.org).
