Groundwater Research Association of CaliforniaHOUSTON, July 27, 2016
–Tendenci (www.tendenci.com), the software development company spearheading the Tendenci Open Source platform, is excited to release a newly-designed, mobile-responsive membership website for the Groundwater Resources Association of California. The website, https://www.grac.org/, provides a platform for communication, education and networking for the California professional organization focused on this natural resource.

Tendenci Open Source was released as an open source solution to give organizations greater freedom and control over their online presence. Of the top 20 Membership Management Software (MMS) platforms globally-ranked by Capterra, Tendenci is the only open source product on the list.

Support of complex membership structures was one of the key reasons Tendenci was selected for this project. GRAC allows both individuals and organizations to join as members. Organizational members are then allowed to have a determined number of individuals join GRAC at a free or discounted price as part of the organization's memberships. As long at the organization stays active within GRAC, their members continue to enjoy the perks of GRAC membership. Recognizing the value of allowing organizations to join has had a definite impact on the overall number of association members.

GRAC also utilized many of other Tendenci features to set up a Job Board with open positions of interest to members, posted Events on the association calendar and uploaded Photo Albums highlighting their members.

Having a mobile-responsive website was definitely a big concern for GRAC with both the design and the software functionality as use of mobile devices is expanding exponentially. The new website is easily navigated on all devices, making it easy for members to look up event details or update their profile at their convenience.

Tendenci has more than 1 million users and currently powers hundreds of websites for organizations around the world, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers - Gulf Coast Section (www.spegcs.org), the American Citizens Abroad organization (www.americansabroad.org), and the San Francisco Bay Area Innovation Group (www.sfbig.org).
