American Citizens Abroad Tendenci WebsiteHOUSTON, February 18, 2016
–Tendenci (www.tendenci.com), the software development company spearheading the Tendenci Open Source platform for associations and other nonprofits (NPOs), is proud to release a mobile-friendly website for American Citizens Abroad. The website, https://www.americansabroad.org, provides valuable information for Americans living overseas regarding taxation, citizenship and current legislative topics.

Tendenci Open Source was released as an open source solution for associations and non-profits to give nonprofits and cause-related organizations greater freedom and control over their online presence.

From the American Citizens Abroad website:

ACA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to Educate, Advocate and Inform both the US Government and US Citizens living and working overseas on issues of concern to the overseas US Citizen community. ACA works to find practical solutions to resolve issues impacting overseas US Citizens and communicates results to constituents stateside and abroad. ACA is the premier thought-leader on issues affecting US Citizens living and working overseas.

While the US Embassy handles paperwork and government submission requirements for Americans overseas, ACA is an advocacy organization that provides a collective voice for all Americans living abroad. ACA keeps abreast of changes in the laws that affect overseas Americans and lobbies for better legislation that protects the rights of these citizens. ACA recently released a free directory of Tax Return Preparers that specifically addresses the requirements of overseas American citizens.

ACA has multiple membership levels within the organization and selected Tendenci as the best membership software solution for their needs. With members living in countries around the world, ACA sought a platform that supports multiple languages, provides flexibility on membership terms and allows for multiple forms of payment. Tendenci's open source structure allows ACA to customize page views, online forms, reports, and layout elements to meet their specific needs.

The flexible Content Management System included with the Tendenci platform allows ACA to easily post recent changes within the American legislative system to keep the information timely and useful. A full archive provides a historical perspective on the evolution of laws regarding Americans overseas. With quick and easy in-house management of site content, ACA is able to listen to their constituents and take action on behalf of all Americans living abroad.

We are proud to work with an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of our fellow citizens that are currently living outside of our borders.

Tendenci has more than 1 million users and currently powers hundreds of websites for associations around the world, including the American Association of Singapore, (www.aasingapore.com), and the American International Club of Geneva (www.amclub.ch), and Advance: Australia's Global Community (www.advance.org).
