Now that you have launched your new Tendenci Web site you're not quite done yet.  You need to ask yourself..."What is the goal of my Web site?"

You want people to come to your Web site and read your information and contact you, right?

But how will you achieve this if people can not find you?  Most people will find you through the search engines with keywords if they do not know your URL.  And if you're not found in the search engines how will you achieve your goal?

Don't worry, this is where
Search Engine Marketing comes in.
Search Engine Marketing is the positioning of your Web site in the search engines.

Now you're probably wondering how do I get myself to page 1 of Google, right?
It will take some time and work to be on first page on any search engines.
The most important thing to focus on is Content. (by this I mean HTML text), because the search engines can only read HTML so no images, no flash, no video.  This doesn't mean you can't have these elements on your site, you just need to complement them with TEXT.
Search Engines also like up to date Web sites because the ultimate goal of the search engines is to bring the searcher the most relevant results.  This means you need to add to your Web site on a regular basis.  And with Tendenci you can easily do this by adding articlespress releases and new CMS pages to your site.
To get you started you may want to do some keyword research for your site to find out what terms people may use to find you.  There are a number of free keyword research tools you can use to help you with this process.  Here's Google's Free Keyword Tool and a helpfile to explain how to use it.
