When you first log in to your new Tendenci site, you'll be taken to what we call the Tendenci Dashboard.
The Dashboard is the back end of your site with the icons. It has places for administrators of the site to quickly do things like adding a page, enabling or disabling modules. This is where you would select and change your theme and change theme settings and styles.
You would be able to quickly find help files from us in our blog down at the bottom. And when you're ready you can click here to activate your account on the dashboard or if you need some extra help on how to set up your website, the first place I always recommend is going to the guide inside your Tendenci Dashboard.
When you have registered site users with admin privileges for adding content but not changing the actual site itself they will be able to come and access some of these different icons in the backend and they'll have a Tendenci Dashboard themselves.
For the most part as the admin you may find it easier to use the admin menu at the top. Up at the top of your website, when you're logged in as an admin you will see you have different menus for themes, reports, people, content.
All of this allows you to go and add new content, edit content, find content, add members, create membership types and view reports for your site. Under our support file you'll also find easy ways to go straight to the dashboard help guide, to search our help files for what you're looking for, to send us feedback –we love getting feedback, and email support for something that you just can't figure out on your own.
That's pretty much the basic way you get around your website in here and as we go through some of these videos we'll show you how to do other things, including adding images, like your logo, changing your menu navigation and other features.
Feel free to play around, go visit some of the other things. The Event Log Summary for example will show you everything that's been done on your website. And when you're coming over here to Themes you can quickly select the right theme for your site.
Before you make any changes, make sure when you come over and check some of these settings and update them, that they look correct on your site and make sure you've entered them correctly.
