This is not Tendenci specific, just a general note on wireless security.

Security starts with your own computer. As of 2015, from best to worst, wireless security is as follows.

1. WPA2 + AES
2. WPA + AES
3. WPA + TKIP
4. WEP - INSECURE - DO NOT USE!
5. Open Network - INSECURE - DO NOT USE!

Why are a few of these dangerous? Well, every XCOMPANY router ships with a default wireless name of "XCOMPANY" and thus if your computer is set to trust that network it will automatically join the most powerful wireless network that it trusts. So... if you previously attached to an insecure network named XCOMPANY, your computer or phone can easily be tricked into routing all traffic through a malicious router or computer.

Yes yes, of course it's more complicated than that of course... But you get the idea.

If you must use an insecure network at least route through a VPN to encrypt your own traffic.
